Dear Saturday Night Live,
Congratulations old friend. You made it to another year. You’ve been going strong for, what is it? This will make it 38 seasons on the air. My goodness. Can you even believe that? Every show has its ups and downs and you are no different I’m sure you know. But here you are thank God, ready to go again.
To those cast members who have moved on from last season, I assure you that you’ll be missed. To the returning cast members, I say a big, “Welcome back!” But to the new cast members I want to say the biggest welcome of all. You’ve not only been welcomed but invited to a very special club. You’ve been hand picked by a guy who knows his stuff. I hope the fandom will forgive me if I’m speaking out of turn here, but we all want you to blow us away. Kill it. Try to make us forget that maybe we lost a few favorites after season 37. Make us fall in love with you. Let us keep our faith in Lorne.
So SNL, this will no doubt be another awesome year. I’m working as hard as I can every week to get ready for the day when you think I’ve got the stuff that your new and current cast members already have. I’ve come a long way with my stand up in the past year and want to say thank you for giving me a goal to work toward.
Keep doing what you’re doing; It’s why you are as great as you are. See you by season 45.
