Well guys, I didn’t win the contest.
BUT! I was definitely a contender. Friend and comic Matt Barry won this round but we knew it would be between us before the show started. He’s a great writer and I’m personally a fan so I can’t really be upset that the evening was his. To be honest I am just pleased he considered me his competition.
I had a rather solid set tonight. I took video and will be posting it tomorrow but Penuches in Concord has a reputation of being a wicked tough room. You have to really make the audience at the bar (with their backs to you) listen. So I have a chat-track on my video but I’ll still post it. You can hear me fine so I guess that’s a reason to.
Afterward, I met a girl in the audience who said she thinks I would have done better if there were more vaginas in the audience. Man, does that bug me. I hate the idea of only appealing to women. So, I have a new thing to be paranoid about. Yihoo!
Good experience overall. I’m happy I did it. More shows this week!
