Watching some stand up.
I have been told that I need to watch some Maria Bamford on more than one occasion. So I checked Netflix and found a show from 2006 with Bamford, Patton Oswald and one other whose name escapes me.
Gotta be honest. I am not liking Maria so far and this disappoints me.

Penuche's show week three was last night!

Just got home from week two of Penuche's.

Dave Carter hosted this evening. He is a “retired” comic who does a hosting gig once in a while. He hosted Nick Lavallee’s CD release party and did phenomenally well then too.

Winners Circle in Review
Winners Circle was okay last night. Shawn gave me some pointers that I am looking forward to trying out. He said that I need to be louder and breathe from my diaphragm and not my chest. I’ve been told that I need to be louder before but I don’t think about it before I go up.

I did new material that went over well tonight!
I had a heckler perk up in the middle of my set that cost me about 45 seconds of time but I got a few laughs from the back and forth.
It was mostly annoying because I needed another 45 seconds to finish my last joke. When it means I can’t try out ALL of a new joke then I get peeved.
Very successful evening regardless.

Sitcom idea.
Envisioning a sitcom starring a failed stand up comedienne as a lovable night court lawyer who wins juries over by basically telling jokes during the whole trial. She is funny in real life but stand up wasn’t paying the bills. She also lives with her model step sister.

Wow. Getting head shots done is so much fun.
No sarcasm. That was quick and painless. The photographer was so nice! The shots looked amazing without touch ups because my best friend and co-writer/make up artist Rachel is incredibly talented. Can’t wait until I get the link to decide which one gets tweaked. What a good experience.

Theme night at The Shaskeen this evening!
Tonight is Topic Night. Host Nick David will announce a topic at 8:30 PM (an hour before showtime) and each comic has to write at least one joke about it. The comic with the best joke on the topic wins the $50.
The more topic themed jokes you write the more chances you have to win. I am going for 5 new topic based minutes. As most theme nights, my goal is to embarrass myself.
