I really think I need a night by myself.
I feel like hanging out at The Shaskeen and listening to some of my favorite comedian friends tell some wicked funny jokes.

(Comedian friend) Shawn Aparo expressed an interesting theory yesterday on comedians who have careers besides comedy. He said that they would never be scared of not being able to pay the bills; they won’t make it because they don’t have to. Operation Funny Girls (sans Steisand) is going...
Operation Funny Girls is my plan to befriend two wonderfully funny young female comics from Boston. (I will not use names on here until we are actually friends, otherwise it’s just weird). I’ve made initial contact and numbers were exchanged. Upcoming show date were exchanged. They both asked me how Dick’s Beantwon Comedy Vault went… all great things!

What I'll be noting tonight:
I’ve met a bunch of Boston comics in the past couple months and a few of them have asked me if I’ve made down to the Boston area yet. When I say no, they usually say:
“You should.”
One or two said the reaction I would get in Boston is a better one than what I’ve been getting up in New Hampshire.

Show in Boston tomorrow night!
I am telling jokes at Dick’s Beantown Comedy Vault tomorrow (Sunday November 27th) at 9:00.
It is a 21+ show and I believe costs $15. If you should come please tell the person at the door you are there to see me. (It might seem silly, but it helps.)
It may seem steep but it’s for a whole night of comedy!
No need to be nervous Lauren. Just telling some jokes south of the boarder....

Most recent illogical thought:
I’m nervous about doing Dick’s Beantown Comedy Vault again because I feel like I’ve lost the buffer. Being able to say “it’s only my first time” helps take some of the pressure off but now? I’ve been at this stand up thing weekly for a couple months now.
I should be able to deliver.

I have a feeling that not having a laptop at home...
Tonight, the majority of my time at The Shaskeen was taken up by a special group of societal drains we like to call “hecklers.” Saying screw my set and wasting a show on colorful language supported by audience applause? Checking that off my list.
Boom. Done.
Tonight marked my first heckling experience.
Wow. Three of my four minutes were taken up by a handful of hecklers in the back. I’ll be posting the video.
Frankly. I handled it great. I’ll say it.

I’ll need at least a week to get over how disturbed I am.
I have a fairly addictive personality.
When I’m on board with something, I am ON BOARD.
My dad is such a proud promoter.
The padre thinks he might be able to get me a spot opening for a headliner at a political fundraiser next month. (Headliner to be determined as far as I know.)

There are two young funny females in the Boston comedy scene that I am determined to befriend.
Their comedy is fantastic and I think they both seem like amazing people.
Goal? I make friends with other funny ladies under 30.
Today is day two of my three day vacation.
It’s great to have some time to sleep in and work on jokes.
If I don’t update a ton it’s probably because my laptop is still fried.

I performed at The Grog in Newburyport again last...
It was a small audience, maybe 6-7 non-comics in the crowd which can be pretty tough. In the beginning of my stand up endeavors, I was thrown off when a punchline didn’t get a laugh but now? I’m completely fine with it. I am getting really good at keeping a straight face. It’s almost like I say a punch, no one laughs, I hold a straight face, then people laugh.

If you got a facebook, you have pictures on there. and bright, a clean hard drive equals free space. it seems like a bigger loss than it really is.

My First Bombing Experience - A Tragedy by Lauren...

It was Wednesday night. Like any other Wednesday night I was en route to the Shaskeen in Manchester to tell a few jokes to some lovely people. I had written two new ones and was planning on giving them a go.
